Inline Planet Skater Network

Social networking for inline skaters

Hi, all.

Here's a quick peak at the events that have so far committed to the 2009 National Roller Cup (NROC):

March 15 - Squiggy, Tampa, FL

April 18 - Road Rash, Round Rock, TX

Aug. 15 - St. Paul, MN

Sept. 6 - Ottawa, Canada (tentative)

Last Sept or early Oct - New York 100K

We expect to fill out the calendar with two or three more events.

Let me know what other events you would like to see on the schedule.

- Robert

Will there be a pro team category like there was in 2008?

Hi, Thomas. ... I'm not sure about Chicagoland. ... Talked to the organizer about a month ago but he was unsure about joining. So it's unclear at this point whether it will be part of the series.

Pro masters for sure. So we will have open (all comers), masters and veterans. ... We may also add another division for veterans 55 and up. ... And we are planning to adding an "advanced" division for non-pros.

Yes, this year we are planning to create a non-pro (or advanced) division. Not sure exactly what we'll call it. But it will be for skaters who want to compete but not against the top pros.

Hey Robert,
is this going to be the same as last year?
I remember some discussion about adding an "Open" or Advanced" division as well.
If not that's OK. But if so, it could certainly influence my choice of races.
I'll be at two of those, for sure, but the others, I dunno.
