How bout something for a cause, a portion of the proceeds go to (enter charity here). The breast cancer 3 day is huge, along with MS run, etc, etc. How about helping out a childrens hospital or something, or hunger in america.
Best feature for me are when events are part of a larger event, single or multi-sport or social skate or fitness event. Much more exposure; spread the skate love...
I think that you mis-construed what I was saying but, quite frankly, it is irrelevant. It is not me or you who are going to save inline skating as it will not be a few more events with 50-100 skaters.

I tend to prefer loops (5 to 10). Car racing circuits probably my very favorite: right and left turns, some climbing, some downhill, some straight and flat. And spectators can see the progression of the race and be somewhat involved as well. However…
That's what I'm talking about. Race at 2, finish by 4, do a little post race hangout, go out for a hearty dinner, find a bed or car seat or plane seat, and collapse.
Bill you should go to Holland next summer, all the crits usually start at 6pm and the road races (classics of 40km and over) start at like 3pm.
