Thanks for the information! I trust Linus and Michael will represent us well. Again is was a great event and Koz did an above average job. It's hard to not point out the easy fixes, by no means is it a jab. I wouldn't mind if Koz gave a few o…
I did my first Silver Strand this year... loved it and will be back! I doubt any of the promoters of the event will read posts here, it's mostly a running event, so I plan to email them a couple tips. Anyhow, this race was great but could be much be…

I agree! Moving to corporate sponsorship would be great for the skaters, but what about the corporations. In outdoor advertising the billboard with the most traffic gets the biggest dollars. Same goes for TV time slots. Why would a big corp…
How bout something for a cause, a portion of the proceeds go to (enter charity here). The breast cancer 3 day is huge, along with MS run, etc, etc. How about helping out a childrens hospital or something, or hunger in america.
Best feature for me are when events are part of a larger event, single or multi-sport or social skate or fitness event. Much more exposure; spread the skate love...
I think that you mis-construed what I was saying but, quite frankly, it is irrelevant. It is not me or you who are going to save inline skating as it will not be a few more events with 50-100 skaters.
The old recipe is not good anymore, we need a ne…
Yeah, let's just give up. You win. I hear that mall walking has become very popular, and I definitely want to make sure that the next sport I take up is very popular.
(1) 26.2 miles.. Not necessarily.. But if you like or are forced to race against yourself for you are not an elite skater with a chance to win the race, it would be nice to compare your performance to previous ones.
(2) I'd say immediately following…
It is time to face up to reality Bill.. Our sport is dying. I am in touch with skaters in Europe and the hemorrage is serious there as well. The Swiss marathons have recently lost quite a few skaters. Even Berlin, while still huge, has had less regi…
Wow, thank you everyone for you input.
For those of you that have looked at my profile or maybe even know me you already know that I’m an advanced skater from Western Wisconsin. I have been skating since the late 80s and was once head of a local sk…
I tend to prefer loops (5 to 10). Car racing circuits probably my very favorite: right and left turns, some climbing, some downhill, some straight and flat. And spectators can see the progression of the race and be somewhat involved as well. However…
That's what I'm talking about. Race at 2, finish by 4, do a little post race hangout, go out for a hearty dinner, find a bed or car seat or plane seat, and collapse.
Bill you should go to Holland next summer, all the crits usually start at 6pm and the road races (classics of 40km and over) start at like 3pm.
Very civilized!
Jonathan
Thank you so much for all the feedback so far!
Keep it coming and likewise there will be more questions next week.
So far I've seen a lot of passion about the time of the event and the quality of the track. One of our big questions was wither NSIM…
