Corn Bread, why should NSIM consider eliminating the awards? More importantly, why eliminate the classes? I'm not being a smartass and I don't have that much racing experience but I wonder what's wrong with them giving awards. Should all boxers, reg…

Erik, While I cant speak with regard to NSIM or Baxter, I can speak with regard to wheel type / durometers / applications. For rougher conditions, you generally want to run a softer compound wheel so that you can cut down on fatigue and maintain go…

thanks for the input so far. What is considered smooth for outdoor trails? I imagine the freshly paved course of Madeline Island would be thought of as smooth. But for me to get some perspective, what would the NSIM or Baxter be considered? I though…

Eric, MPC Speed wheels are pretty solid for Marathon use, however, for the price, you might also consider the Atom One Black 86A, Bont High Roller 87a Pink, or the Hyper Sidewinder Green 86A. If you know for a fact that the entirety of the course w…

What's the difference between the variable traction wheel and the $15 wheel, besides six dollars? The websites aren't the most help. They all claim they make the world's greatest wheel and that all the champions use their wheels. Anyone got some inp…

You may already know this but, whichever wheels you choose, (I'm partial to Atom Ones), I recommend getting a set of MPC Storm Surges in case you end up racing or skating in wet conditons. You can run a full set or, Storm Surges front and back with…

The Varaible Traction wheels I saw for $9 were 88a hardness. If anyone has a place where they can use those outdoors on the local trails, let me know, cuz I want to move there. :) If they worked for you, though, that is a great price...

I'm skating on 110mm Road Wars right now. They are very hard wheels but very fast and fairly good wear. I skated on them last year at Northshore and will probably again this year although they are a tad too hard for the rough parts of the course. At…

I've heard generally good things about MPC wheels. But I don't think you'd go wrong with some Bont High Rollers (what I've used this year and last) or some Atom wheels. All are quality, fast wheels with lots of positive talk about them.

Anyone here have any opinions on MPC wheels for marathon racing? Time for some new wheels and I'm looking for some input. Thanks in advance.

Mr. T, I wonder about the wisdom of abolishing all the different divisions. I'm a wreck skater and I think I'd feel pretty crappy about getting in someones way that has a chance to win it. Isn't that one of the reasons they have the serious contende…

How well do the gps systems work on these phones? The reason I ask is that I do some Geo-Caching (yes, hiking for nerds) and some cachers feel the phones are worthless for geocaching. Just not accurate enough. Would this effect what your speeds and…

If I'd have known that I would get free entry fees forever, I'd have won it on my first try.

Pretty new to this racing thing but I'm getting a few of them under my belt. I enjoy most outdoor activities that involve moving. Not much for watching sports.
