Anybody skate the Root River Trail?  The section between Fountain and Lansboro is very nicely paved.  I went past Lansboro the other day and it is rough, very rough.  Just wanted to know if it is like that the rest of the way or if it smooths out later.  The branch towards Preston is pretty good too.  Just want some new scenery.

Also new trails running fron grand rapids to virginia I heard. This was the Mesabi Trail Ride today if I remember correctly that is bike run not blade/inline which it probably should have included inliners also. Munger Trail out of Duluth not too good but smoother parts near Carlton.

Thanks for the welcome, my daughter will be relieved that I don't need to wear spandex. As will most people. I am signed up for the Northshore race. I did it last year and had a blast. Nice course, nice people and I thought it was well organized. See you on Saturday.

Wearing a skin suit in public is considered "hazing" in most cultures :-)

Anyhow, welcome!

Not at all hardcore but enjoy inline as often as weather permits especially in Duluth. Check out northshore inline Saturday. You do not need to be a hardcore to have a good time. You can do as I do and draft as much as possible and the course is a nice cruise down old hwy 61 from two harbors. Otherwise do half marathon if you would rather but at any rate give it a go if it fits your schedule.

Hey All, I guess I just joined your group. Any hazing involved? Not sure if this is the right group for me. I'm pretty much a wannabe in the roller world. Are you all hardcore 20 mph skaters? I still have a brake on my skates.

I skated the Shooting Star State Trail today. It starts in LeRoy, MN which is about as close to the southern MN border as you can get without going into Iowa. The trail is 15 miles long total and over half of it is the smoothest outdoor trail you will find in MN. There are a few wooded areas which are tough to traverse this time of year with leaves and sticks falling onto the trail. Also, there are about a dozen road crossings, many of which are dirt roads. Other than that, it is a great trail with beautiful scenery and definitely worth the skate.

Hey Scott, thanks for the Kudos!

We were thrilled with the result as well and in fact we see many ways to improve for next year. This is a fun format for a great weekend of racing.

We had a great team put together to pull it off. My partners (Adam and Marilyn) and I are fortunate to have a fantastic group of coordinators and volunteers who keep it all moving in the right direction.
