Robert asked me to ask this on the forum so all can see the answers. I am probably not the only one with these questions.

---

I have a question regarding the St Paul races and NROC. Do the St Paul races count as 1 race toward your 4 race total or does it count as 2? I know that the races both have separate NROC points.

Also, for NY 100k, what race counts for points for the Advanced division? Would it be the 42K or the 100K? If I do that race, I need to know which to register for to qualify for NROC advanced points.

And one more question, since you only need 4 races to qualify, if you do more than 4 races, do you take your 4 best point totals? And what happens in case of a tie?

Thanks,

Scott

Hi, Scott.

Good questions:

Each of the St. Paul races (the half marathon and the 10K) count as separate races. You get single points for each race, so if you skate both, you get double points for the weekend.

As for the NY 100K, the pros earn points in the 100K, the advanced skaters earn points in the marathon.

And we only count your top four scores for the season, so once you reach four, we start tossing out the lowest score after each race.

Thanks for your questions. And let me know if you have anymore.

Robert, has there been changes to the rule book since it was published?

"Points will be based on results in the marathons of participating events with one exception. In New York, pro skaters will receive double points if they skate the 100K and regular points if they skate the marathon. Advanced skaters will be scored (regular points) based on their finish in the marathon."

More specifically, will double points be awarded in the pro division for skating 100k?
