Inline Planet Skater Network

Social networking for inline skaters

Thank you for your support of the Athens to Atlanta Road Skate.

As of this writing we have 52 registrations with less than two months to go.  Unfortunately we are not "on track" to cover expenses of the most minimal possible event.

In order to go forward we will need to book 100 registrations (-OR- the equivalent in donations) by end of day, Monday, August 29, 2011.  This means we need to roughly double our number of registrations in the next two weeks.

Should we fail to make our registration goal by the date above, we will make an announcement on or about August 30th regarding what we can still do, including possible cancellation of the event.

If you have any plans to skate in A2A 2011, please register as soon as possible, but absolutely no later than August 29th.  Due to logistics and the need to begin making non-refundable purchases soon to produce the event, and also in fairness to those who must purchase airfare, we simply cannot wait any later than August 29th.

You can register online here: http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1954133

or obtain a printable entry form here: http://www.a2a.net/entryform/entryform2011.pdf

If you are unable to skate, please consider volunteering at our event.  If you are absolutely unable to attend in any capacity, please consider making a donation in lieu by going to www.a2a.net and clicking the "Donate" button.

In the mean time we recommend that you postpone purchasing non-refundable airfare until we can make any final announcement(s) regarding this year's event.  There are many excellent fall airfare deals appearing immediately after Labor Day.

Thank you for your consideration and attention.

Please sign up! This is the 30th anniversary of an amazing event. I have skated the full distance 3 times and the half distance twice before that. It was a blast every time. If you haven't skated this event, start tuning up now. If you've been skating this summer, like a marathon, you are ready to train for A2A. I just did my first long skate of 40 miles last week. It hurt but I loved it! Need some inspiration? No problemo. I am in the process of uploading the Outdoor Life Network's television coverage of this event from 1998! Parts 1-3 are ready for your viewing pleasure. The rest should be up soon. Athens to Atlanta 1998

Do I sound desperate? I kind of am. I already bought the plane tickets...dirt cheap by the way through AirTran. I paid less for three people this year than I did for two people back in 2006. Check out the fares!

You're up to 73!!!!!!
Jamie - I'm registered but have not gotten my plane tickets yet. Fingers Crossed, I'm really excited!
