Inline Planet Skater Network

Social networking for inline skaters

It seems like every sport but ours has a wall calendar — or 20 — of its own. Well, we aim to change that.
Today, we are launching the Inline Skating Calendar Photo Contest.
With your help, we'll create a beautiful wall calendar showcasing our sport and have it ready to ship in early November.
There are two ways you can help:
  • Submit your best skate photos by uploading them to the Photo page of the Skater Network and tagging them "contest." (Remember to tag them so we know you want the photo to be included in the contest.)
  • Next vote on your favorite photos by going to the Skate Photo Contest page and clicking the "Like" buttons on the individual photo pages.
Prize money
The winning photographer will earn $100; second-place, $50; third-place, $25.

Posting photos
Upload low or medium resolution versions of your photos for the contest. But be sure to keep a high-res version of the photo on hand in case one of your photos is selected. We will need high-quality photos when it comes time to print the calendar.
Please tell us a little about your photo, such as where and when it was shot. That will help us figure out when it should appear on the calendar.
Remember that by submitting the photos to the contest you are allowing us to use them in the 2012 Inline Skating Calendar.

Deadline for submitting photos
Oct 1, 2011
We will tabulate the results and make the final cut on Oct. 10th.

Michael Cheveddon of Image Solutions Print & Mail will lay out the calendar and handle printing.
We expect the calendar to be ready for shipping on Nov. 1, 2011 ... just in time for the holidays.

Hi, Skaters.

We've been a little busy with the end of NROC season so we are going to extend the deadline for the 2011 Skate Photo Contest by five days. So you now have until Sunday, Oct. 9th, to submit your photos.

How to:

Submit photos by uploading them to the Photo page of the Skater Network and tagging them "contest." (Remember to tag them so we know you want the photo to be included in the contest.)

Next, vote on your favorite photos by going to the Skate Photo Contest page and clicking the "Like" buttons on the individual photo pages.

The winning photographer will earn $100; second-place, $50; third-place, $25.

Good luck and thanks to all of you who submit photos and vote. We want to produce a beautiful calendar that showcases the sport we love.

We sent out emails yesterday to the finalists in the photo contest. ... Check your inboxes. We now need to see high-res versions of the photos before we make the final picks.

We should be ready to announce the contest winners my the end of the month. Stay tuned! And thanks to all of you who submitted photos. We got a lot of great stuff.
